HeartSaver CPR/AED

 [Coaches, Teachers, Office Personnel, Lay Persons, Fitness Center Staff]

This course is intended for those who have a duty to respond to a cardiac emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements.

The American Heart Association HeartSaver CPR/AED Course teaches CPR, AED use, relief of choking in adults and children and infant CPR and relief of choking, and use of barrier devices for all ages.

 

HeartSaver First Aid

[for those who have a duty to respond to a first aid or cardiac emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements] 

The American Heart Association HeartSaver First Aid Course teaches how to manage illness and injuries in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. Course content includes General Principles, Medical Emergencies and Injury Emergencies. Optional topics include CPR and AED, and Environmental Emergencies

 

Online: We also offer an online HeartSaver First Aid course. This course includes a cognitive portion (Part 1), as well as a skills test (Part 2) with an AHA instructor who is on staff. Part 1 is taken online by registering at www.onlineaha.org. Once you complete the online portion, please call the office to schedule the skills evaluation!

 

HeartSaver First Aid with Bloodborne Pathogens*

This course is intended for those who have a duty to respond to a first aid or cardiac emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements, including government workers and tattoo artists.

 The American Heart Association HeartSaver First Aid Course teaches how to manage illness and injuries in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. Course content includes General Principles, Medical Emergencies and Injury Emergencies. Optional topics include CPR and AED, and Environmental Emergencies.

 

HeartSaver Pediatrics First Aid

[Child Care/Daycare workers, Babysitters, Teachers, Foster care workers, Youth Organizations]

The American Heart Association HeartSaver Pediatric First Aid Course teaches how to manage illness and injuries in a child in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. Topics include First Aid Basics, Medical Emergencies, Injury Emergencies, Environmental Emergencies, Optional First Aid Topics and CPR and AED.

 

Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers (BLS-HCP)

[Nurses, Doctors, PTs, CNAs, Dentists, Surgical Techs, Occupational Therapists,

Speech Therapists, Optometrists]

This course is designed for healthcare providers of almost any type. The Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers course covers core material such as adult and pediatric CPR (including two-rescuer scenarios and the use of a bag mask), foreign-body airway obstruction and automated external defibrillation.

Online: We also offer an online BLS course. This course includes a cognitive portion (Part 1), as well as a skills test (Part 2) with an AHA instructor who is on staff.  Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

[Physicians, Nurses, EMTs, Paramedics, Respiratory Therapists]

The American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support course is totally redesigned to incorporate new scientific evidence from the 2005 Guidelines and a new teaching methodology. Through the ACLS course, healthcare providers will enhance their skills in the treatment of the adult victim of a cardiac arrest or other cardiopulmonary emergencies. ACLS emphasizes the importance of basic life support CPR to patient survival; the integration of effective basic life support with advanced cardiovascular life support interventions; and the importance of effective team interaction and communication during resuscitation.

Online:We also offer an online HeartCode ACLS Anywhere course that is designed for healthcare providers such as physicians, nurse, paramedics and other healthcare professionals who may respond to a cardiovascular emergency. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

[Pediatricians, Emergency Physicians, Family Physicians, Physician Assistants, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Paramedics, Respiratory Therapists and other healthcare providers who initiate and direct advanced life support in pediatric emergencies]

The completely redesigned American Heart Associationís Pediatric Advanced Life Support course is based on new scientific evidence from the 2005 AHA Guidelines for CPR and ECC and a new teaching methodology. The goal of the PALS course is to aid the pediatric healthcare provider in developing the knowledge and skills necessary to efficiently and effectively manage critically ill infants and children, resulting recognition and treatment of infants and children at risk for cardiopulmonary arrest; the systematic approach to pediatric assessment, effective respiratory management; defibrillation and synchronized cardio version; intraosseous access and fluid bolus administration; and effective resuscitation team dynamics.

Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
ENA (Emergency Nurses Association) developed and implemented the Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) for national and international dissemination as a means of identifying a standardized body of trauma nursing knowledge. The TNCC (Provider) is a 16- or 20-hour course designed to provide the learner with cognitive knowledge and psychomotor skills. The purpose of TNCC is to present core-level knowledge, refine skills and build a firm foundation in trauma nursing.
Only Registered Nurses may participate in the testing of the psychomotor skills stations and multiple-choice exam.

Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC)
ENA (Emergency Nurses Association) developed and implemented the ENPC, which is a 16-hour course designed to provide core-level pediatric knowledge and psychomotor skills needed to care for pediatric patients in the emergency setting. The course presents a systematic assessment model, integrates the associated anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology, and identifies appropriate interventions. Triage categorization and prevention strategies are included in the course content. ENPC is taught using a variety of formats, including lectures, videotapes and includes skill stations that encourage participants to integrate their psychomotor abilities into a patient situation in a risk-free setting.
Only Registered Nurses may participate in the testing of the psychomotor skills stations and multiple-choice exam.

Core EKG Course
This course has been designed by Flex Med founder, Tag Doss RN, to give students a core foundation of EKG rhythm recognition.  The target audience is healthcare providers and/or healthcare institutions who desire their staff to have a useful, working knowledge of EKG and telemetry monitoring-RN, LPN, telemetry techs, hospitals, telemetry units.  The course emphasizes a five step approach that can be used to analyze any rhythm.  Whether you are a veteran or novice at monitoring telemetry, the Core EKG Course will provide you with skills that will be practical for your career and will improve patient care.
